When Suzanne was diagnosed by Professor Peter Mortimer at St Georges Hospital she was astonished to discover a condition she had never heard was responsible for blighting her life from her teenager years. With her usual passion for action and encouraged by Prof Mortimer’s team at St Georges, Suzanne and her family founded our charity Lipoedema UK. 

Suzanne’s journey since her diagnosis illustrates that one person’s action can bring about enormous change and how a diagnosis and appropriate treatments can empower individuals to ‘beat lipoedema’.

Suzanne, Sharie Fetzer and Michelle Ellis were the team who initiated Lipoedema Awareness Week around June 11th which has now grown into a world wide monthly which this year will be celebrated by the launch of a World Lipedema Day Manifesto and a series of free YouTube events by international expert members of the Lipedema World Alliance (LWA).
