Weight loss injections and Lipoedema

Weight loss medications are not currently licensed or approved for the treatment of lipoedema, yet more people with lipoedema are trying GLP-1/GIP injections eg. Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, Saxenda®, but there’s very limited research on whether they actually help lipoedema symptoms. Doctors don’t know if they work, insurance companies won’t cover them, and people are left spending £££ hoping for the best.

Nicole will give an update on the work of St Georges, talk about her role in the project, why she is interested in studying lipoedema,  what they hope to learn from the study and how people can take part.
