Medicine and Me: Unmasking Lipoedema – A woman’s health condition hidden in plain sight

We’re excited to announce we are collaborating with The Royal Society of Medicine to raise awareness of lipoedema through their online series Medicine and Me.

The event takes place via The Royal Society of Medicine’s online platform on Tuesday 16th September, starting at 2pm.

We have a fantastic line-up of expert speakers and patient voices covering topics from diagnosis to the recent decision by the German Government to fund liposuction for lipoedema.

Please note: The RSM are hosting this event and you will need to create a FREE account via their website for access. Don’t worry it’s easy to do, just follow the below instructions…

1. Visit the Event Page → CLICK HERE
2. Select BOOK (orange button)
3. Scroll down the page and select REGISTER to create a free RSM account (or SIGN IN if you already have one) – Note these are not the same login details as your Lipoedema UK account
4. Fill in your details, create a password and fill in any contact preferences.
5. You may receive an email to confirm your email address (click the link in the email to verify it if so.)Now you have set up your free RSM membership account, you can book your ticket…
6. Fill in your delegate details. (you can type n/a when asked about your career background if not relevant)
7. Add a free ticket your cart and CHECKOUT
8. Receive email confirmation from RSM – this confirms you are registered for the event and will receive a link to access the webinar on the morning of the event. If you can’t find it please don’t forget to check spam.

Event Sessions:

Session 1: Understanding Lipoedema: Foundations of diagnosis and management

Session 2: Lipoedema management in primary care: Challenges in primary care, emerging anecdotal evidence on GLP-1, and the role of nutrition

Session 3: Liposuction in Lipoedema: A German approach to liposuction, updates on the LIPLEG study & implications for the UK

Each session will feature a patient voice, allowing individuals with lipoedema to share their personal experiences, followed by talks from expert international clinicians. 

Will the event be recorded?

Yes, the event will be recorded for those unable to attend live, but please register for access.
