‘I was brushed off by doctors over my chunky painful legs’ – Daily Mail +, Business and America

On 21st March 2025, The Daily Mail published a new article highlighting lipoedema via their UK Mail+ subscription page and US website Business and America.

The article details Lipoedema UK member Pai Masendu’s struggle for lipoedema diagnosis and experience of life changing treatment.

Pai endured 35 years of pain and symptoms before her lipoedema diagnosis aged 49.

In December 2024, Lipoedema UK took part in The Future of Dermatology: Spotlight on Skin, created by ITN Business and The British Skin Foundation.

The programme explores stories that showcase the research and innovations that are improving the lives of people living with skin conditions.

Dr Köhler and patient Sandra Slaughter discuss the importance of early diagnosis and the benefits of non-cosmetic liposuction for lipoedema patients.

Ozempic and Lipoedema – The Mail on Sunday

The Mail on Sunday published an article in October 2024 on the effects of Ozempic on lipoedema symptoms.

Natalie’s Story – Granada TV News

In August 2021, Granada TV contacted Lipoedema UK to create a short news story to highlight lipoedema, which was shared on local news programme Granada TV and online on ITVX.

The battle for lipoedema surgery: ‘I’m in constant pain’ – BBC News

In February 2019, Anne Henry and Lipoedema UK Trustee Kate Forster, talked to BBC journalists about how non-cosmetic liposuction can help lipoedema symptoms and discuss the struggle to access treatment on the NHS.

Anne also bravely presented her story of struggling to obtain diagnosis and treatment to the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Women’s Health.
