We would like to invite you to participate in an international research study exploring the experiences of lipedema before and during pregnancy, and in the first year after childbirth.
This study is being conducted by Joanna Dudek, PhD, from SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland, Johanna Falck, PhD, and Professor Jan Martensson from Jönköping University in Sweden.
What is the study about?
This study aims to better understand the physical, emotional, and social experiences of women with lipedema before and during pregnancy, and in the first year after childbirth.
It is currently unclear how pregnancy and childbirth affect the development and symptoms of lipedema. As such, studies on the experiences of pregnancy and childbirth among women with lipedema are needed. Your participation could help fill this gap and improve care for others in the future.
Who can take part?
You are invited to participate if:
• You are 18 years or older, and
• You have had lipedema before pregnancy, during pregnancy, or in the first year after childbirth, and
• You have already given birth (the study is not for those who are currently pregnant).
• *No formal diagnosis is required!
What does participation involve?
You’ll be asked to complete an anonymous online questionnaire (approx. 60 minutes). You can pause at any time and return later using the same device. We recommend using a computer or tablet for easier navigation.
If you don’t remember some of your experiences, feel free to skip the question and share those experiences that you remember.
Why participate?
Your responses will help researchers gain critical insights and may influence future research, treatment approaches, and patient education.
