Lipoedema UK has been featured in Slimming World Magazine

Lipoedema was recently highlighted in the Aug/Sept 2026 Slimming World Magazine, helping to raise awareness of the condition among thousands of readers. The feature explores what lipoedema is, patients’ experiences of living with the condition, and how maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce inflammation, improve mobility and support symptom management, even though lipoedema fat itself does not respond to weight loss in the same way as ordinary body fat.

The article also shares the experiences of two women living with lipoedema, whose diagnoses helped them better understand their condition and access the right support to manage their symptoms.

We’re proud that Kris Jones, Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Trustee of Lipoedema UK, contributed her expertise to the article, helping to ensure readers received accurate, evidence-based information about the condition, its symptoms and available treatment options.

Volunteers Raising Awareness in Local Slimming World Groups

We also want to highlight the efforts of our volunteer Jo, who has been raising awareness about lipoedema at Slimming World Class in Sedgley.

Jo said:

“A huge thank you to the wonderful Vinny and everyone at the Slimming World classes in Sedgley for making me feel so welcome.

It was a privilege to spend time raising awareness of Lipoedema, speaking to so many lovely people, answering questions, and helping shine a light on a condition that is still so often misunderstood.

Every conversation matters. If evenone person recognises the signs and feels encouraged to seek support, then this visit has been worthwhile.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, shared their own experiences, or picked up some information. Together, we’re helping to spread awareness and ensure more people know they’re not alone.

– Awareness leads to understanding.

 – Understanding leads to support.

– Support changes lives.”
